Women’s 138th Weekend
September 11-14, 2025
“Do whatever He Tells You”. John 2:5
Dear Members of the Fourth Day Community,
It is my pleasure to announce that Elaine Jimenez has been discerned and accepted the role of Rectora of the Women’s 138th Cursillo Weekend. The Weekend will be held Thursday through Sunday evening, September 11-14 – at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien.
Elaine is from St. Alexander Parish in Villa Park and was a member of the Women’s 92nd Weekend. We are thrilled to have her lead this fall weekend.
Tina King
Joliet Diocesan Cursillo Coordinator
Dear Cursillo Fourth Day Community,
It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I have accepted to be the servant leader for the Women’s 138th Cursillo. I am in awe that this request has come during the Year of Jubilee 2025. My husband and I made a Pilgrimage to Rome in February of 2025, walked through four Holy Doors and stood in awe of being in St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square.
I made my original Cursillo weekend in June 2004 and my life and faith has never been the same. Cursillo became life changing for me and my husband, Deacon Julio. The theme of my original weekend was, “Be Still and Know.” The theme of this 138th Cursillo weekend is “First Disciple, Holy Mother Mary.”
Since a young bride to my husband, Julio and I have looked to our Blessed Mother for guidance and strength. I know she whispers my petitions into her Son, Jesus’ ear. My scripture verse is, “Do whatever He tells you.” John 2:5.
Team formation with be on Tuesday, evenings at 6:30 p.m. at St. Alexander Parish in Villa Park.
The dates for formation are:
June – 17, 24
July – 8, 15, 22, 29
August 5, 12, 19, 26
Commissioning will take place at our final meeting in August following Mass at 6:30 p.m.
The Closing will be on Sept. 14, 2025 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 4:30 p.m.
Please discern if you are being called into formation for this weekend. Women who are discerning being a part of the team should be able to commit to attending all 10 of the meetings, the 72 hour weekend, and are in Group Reunion.
Please take a few minutes to complete the pre-registration form. This will provide the Core team with some advanced information that will be helpful for planning purposes. While pre-registering is preferred, you are still always welcome to join the team on June 17 without doing so. If you do pre-register and your situation changes, and you are unable to serve, simply let someone from the Core team know of the change.
Elaine Jimenez
