Men’s 135th Cursillo Weekend

Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

I am pleased to announce that Paul McGuire has been discerned as Rector for the Men’s 135th Cursillo Weekend! The Weekend will be held Thursday March 1 through Sunday March 4th, 2018 at the Carmelite Center in Darien.

Paul is a member of St. Joseph Parish in Manhattan, IL.  Paul made his Cursillo Weekend in February 2013 on the Men’s 125th.  Paul has served previously on several Weekend Teams.

“Upon being asked to serve, my first reaction was ‘My Father, let this cup pass from me…’, but on further prayer, discernment and conversation with Laura, my wife I realized that it is, ‘not as I will, but as you will.'”

Team formation will begin on Sunday December 17th at 6:30pm.  The meetings will be held in the Pastoral Center of St. Joseph parish in Manhattan.  It is the big white house just south of the main church.

Subsequent meetings will be held:
– Wed Dec 27th at 6:30pm (to be confirmed)
– Sundays in January: 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
– Sundays in February: 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

Father Matt Pratscher, Diocesan Spiritual Director for the Movement, will be the Spiritual Director for the Weekend. Mark Young and John “YT” Whitehouse have agreed to be Assistant Rectors.  The balance of the Core Team will be announced shortly.

“I believe this is an exciting opportunity for many guys who wanted to be more involved in sharing what has been given to them,” added Paul.  “We will need a strong showing of smiling faces and open hearts from the north and the south (of the Diocese) to help mentor this mission work.  Please pray guys!”

Paul wants everyone to know that in Manhattan, the air is clean and the parking is free!

If you are in small group reunion and can make the commitment to the formation schedule and the Weekend, please pray about it and consider joining Paul’s team.
