Women’s 122nd Cursillo Weekend

Members of the Joliet Cursillo Fourth Day Community:

I am thrilled to announce that Debi Kenny has accepted the call to be Rectora for the Women’s 122nd Cursillo Weekend!

Debi is a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish in Darien and hasbeen an active Cursillista since attending the Women’s 61st Weekend in November of 1989.  Debi has served on 29 Weekend teams including as Rectora for the Women’s 71st (July 1993) and also the Women’s 101st (August 2007).

“It is my great honor and joy to be called to lead the Women’s 122st Cursillo.  I humbly ask for your prayers as we work to
draw others closer to our Lord and Savior,” remarked Debi.

Debi further asked us all to reflect on the following idea:

“God used Paul, the apostle who was a murderer of Christians, to become one of Christianity’s most outspoken evangelists.
He used Job, a very blessed man, to become the central character in a story about a man who seems to be cursed.  He used a stall full of straw and animals to house the savior of the world.”    Marsha Marks.

“And he wants to use You and I to draw the world to Him,” added Debi.

The Weekend will be held from Thursday November 12th through Sunday November 15th at the Carmelite Spiritual Center in Darien, IL.  This is our first Weekend at the Carmelite Center and we are thrilled to have Debi lead us in this endeavor.

Debi has discerned the following Bible quote from Matthew 5:8 as a reflection for the Weekend:

“Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God.”

Team formation meetings will be held at Our Lady of Peace in Darien starting Friday Sept 11th.  All meetings will begin at 7pm and be held in the church basement.  Our Lady of Peace is located at 709 Plainfield Rd. in Darien [MAP]
