New Secretariat Members

To the Fourth Day Community:

It is with pleasure that I welcome two new members to the Secretariat, Tom Mayer and Marybeth Filipowski.

Tom Mayer will serve as Chair for the School of Leaders. Tom made his Cursillo in November 2011 on the Men’s 122nd weekend. Tom is a member of St. Petronille Parish (Glen Ellyn) and he brings enthusiasm and vigor to the position. We are excited about the possibilities for the School under his leadership. I ask all of you to support Tom in this endeavor and also to join us on the fourth Tuesday’s of the month (at
7pm) for the School of Leaders reunion at St. Petronille. Our next School is November 26th.

Marybeth will be our new Treasurer.  Marybeth is a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Naperville. Marybeth made her Weekend on the Women’s 113th.

I also want to thank Joan O’Halloran for her service on Secretariat over the past two years as Fourth Day Chair. We will miss her good nature and love for the movement. Ed Burjek who was formerly our Treasurer, has agreed to assume this essential role.

Finally, I would like to draw your attention to a survey being conducted by the Joliet Diocese. The purpose of the survey is to gather input from members of the Diocese on what our pastoral priorities should be. In essence, what we should be doing to “build community and strengthen faith” in our parishes.

The survey is brief (ten questions) and is anonymous. As Cursillistas, we should have the perspective to be able to offer constructive feedback in support of this effort. Please pray about it and take the few moments to answer the survey.
