Fr Matt Pratscher – Spiritual Director

Brothers and Sisters of the Fourth Day:

I am excited to inform you that Bishop Conlon has assigned Fr. Matt Pratscher as Spiritual Director for the Cursillo movement in the Diocese of Joliet.  In this capacity, he will advise both the Spanish and English language efforts.

Fr. Matt was raised in Romeoville and ordained a priest for the Diocese of Joliet in 2008. Before ordination to the priesthood, he served the Parish of St. Walter in Roselle as a transitional deacon in the spring of 2008. Since ordination to the priesthood, he has served as parochial vicar at Visitation Parish in Elmhurst and at St. Dominic Parish in Bolingbrook and now as pastor of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Joliet.

Fr. Matt made his Cursillo weekend in 2006 as a seminarian and has been a great friend to the movement, having served on numerous weekends.  He is currently supporting the women’s 116th weekend as spiritual director. When asked about the new position, Fr. Matt responded, “I am excited to be the new spiritual director of the Cursillo movement here in the Diocese of Joliet. This movement has helped many of us to walk together in the Lord and rediscover the presence of God’s grace in our lives and the gift of our Church and Her sacraments. Cursillo has strengthened our friendship with the Lord and inspired us to share this gift with others. I am grateful to be a part of Cursillo.”

I am also inviting all of you to join us in thanking Fr. Mark Jendrysik for his many years of service to the movement.  We will be recognizing Fr. Mark’s contributions at a future closing ceremony, so please watch these announcements for more details in the near future.

De Colores!
