New Lay Leader Announced
To the Fourth Day Community:
Happy New Year! I pray that you had a wonderful Christmas season with family and friends.
It is my pleasure to announce that we have a new Lay Director! Debi Kenny has accepted the call to lead the Cursillo Movement here in the Joliet Diocese.
I have spoken to Debi a few times over the past month and she is excited to be taking on this new role. I feel that she will serve humbly and with love for all. Her love for Cursillo will surely show through her actions. I ask for your full support and to work graciously with her.
Debi has been very active in the Joliet Cursillo movement since making her Weekend on the Women’s 61st in November 1989. She has three times served as Rectora and has worked on over thirty Weekend teams in virtually every capacity.
“The Cursillo Movement has and continues to be a central part of my life and the life of my family for the past 28 years,” remarked Debi. “I believe it is a powerful instrument that God has given us to transform the world.
“I am humbled and honored to serve this Movement. With the grace of God, and your support, I will endeavor to serve Our Lord with all my heart, soul and mind. Let us together transform this world for Christ. ULTREYA!”
Debi and her husband, Deacon Pat Kenny are members of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Parish in Darien.
Debi will assume her duties beginning January 16th.
Also, Debi has asked me to lead the School of Leaders meeting this month on January 23rd. The meeting will be at St. Petronille in Glen Ellyn [MAP] and will start at 7pm. Please plan on attending.
In the meantime, please keep Debi and our Movement in your prayers.
Peace,
Tim Moore
