Women’s 119th Cursillo Weekend

Members of the Joliet Cursillo Fourth Day Community:

I am pleased to announce that Joan O’Halloran has accepted the call to be Rectora for the Women’s 119th Cursillo Weekend.

Joan is a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Naperville and has been an active Cursillista since attending the Women’s 79th Weekend in August 1997.  Joan has previously served on nine Weekend teams and has also served on Secretariat through this past year as Fourth Day chair.  This is her first assignment as Rectora.

The Weekend will be held from Thursday October 16th to Sunday October 19th at the Dominican Retreat Center in Justice, IL.

“I am honored and humbled to be chosen by the Holy Spirit to lead the Woman’s 119th Cursillo Weekend”, said Joan.  “I am excited, sometimes anxious but mostly filled with the peace that only comes from God. I am looking forward to this journey, and ask for your prayers that our team be true servants and do God’s will as we prepare for our candidates.”

“May our Lord continue to draw Joan, the team, the candidates, and our movement closer to Himself”, added Father Matt Pratscher, Spiritual Director for the Joliet Cursillo.  “I pray that our friendships with Christ and one another will deepen during this weekend and that it will be an
opportunity for the candidates to rediscover Christ, the Church, His sacraments, and His love.”

Joan has discerned the following Bible quote from Colossians as theme for the Weekend:
“As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”  Col 3:12

The first team formation meeting will be as follows:

When: Friday July 25th at 7pm

Where: St.Elizabeth Seton, on the lower level (Map -> 2220 Lisson Rd., Naperville)
(Additional meetings will be held August 8th, 15th, 22nd, Sept. 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, Oct 3rd and 10th.)

If you feel called to work on this Weekend, please pray about it and consider joining Joan’s team.  To work on a team, you must be in active Group reunion and willing to commit to being in attendance for 10 weeks of formation meetings.

Peace,

Tim Moore
